From the success of over 1000 people attending the relatively unpublicised event in 2007, this year will be even bigger and better!
In the gallery space artists including Laurence Elliot, Joe Worthington, Joe Loughbourgh and Splendid Collective will exhibit new artwork. Critically acclaimed Contemporary dance group Lila Dance will perform alongside Bodyjack and Cai Tomos. Bands include hotly-tipped musical acts such as Maybe She Will, Flies are Spies from Hell and Theory – “astonishing..." John Peel. Comedy and poetry afternoons will include engaging local talents such as Pete Walsh (as seen on channel4.com) and Aether Flyer. There will also be a film showcase, open-mic session and workshops, including Beat Boxing, African Drumming, Music Improv, Graffiti and Group Singing. Graffiti artists from all over the south coast will paint a mural at the Boys Club, leaving behind some lasting visual JOY.

As part of the ‘I Am Joy’ ethos, the organisers aim to not only achieve a new diverse exhibition of artwork, but to solidify a community of artists contributing towards future projects. We seek to include and involve the young people of Chichester, for example by inviting underage musicians to perform when it can be difficult to find venues for them to do so.

I AM JOY. YOU ARE JOY. WE ARE JOY.
